Corrections
Our policy
Accuracy is the product. If a number, label or statement on a page does not match the filing it cites, it is an error and is handled like this:
- Within 24 hours of confirming the error, the data is corrected and the page rebuilt.
- A visible notice is placed at the top of the affected page: "Correction (date): metric was previously shown as X; the correct value is Y (source: filing)."
- The correction is added to the log below.
- The preview image used when the page is shared is regenerated. If a wrong figure was posted on X, we reply to that post with the correction.
- The page goes back through the manual check before advertising is shown on it again.
Two published input errors pause our posting on X until the data-entry process has been reviewed.
Company revisions are not our errors
Sometimes the company itself changes a figure, for example when the 10-Q differs from the press release. Those pages carry a different notice: "Updated from 10-Q on (date): metric revised by the company from X to Y." They appear in the log, marked as company revisions.
How to report an error
Use the "Report an error" link at the bottom of any data page, or write to [email protected] with the page address, the figure and, if you can, the filing line that differs. See the contact page.
Log
No corrections have been published so far. This log will list every one, with the date, the page, the old and the new value and the filing it was checked against.
